ABOUT HEJNY METHOD:
The Hejny Method is a modern way of teaching maths and is increasingly popular in Czech schools. It allows pupils to learn mathematics with joy.
The method started to be more developed in the late 1980s by mathematician Milan Hejný, however the basics of the method had already been formulated by his father Vít Hejný in 1947.
Professor Milan Hejný continued his father´s work, and together with a group of colleagues fully developed a new teaching method that would allow children to enjoy the process of learning. The system is aimed at constructing a network of mental mathematical schemes, which are formed by each student individually.
Nowadays the method is being taught in 1/3 of all Czech elementary schools. You can find more about the method here.
COURSE DETAILS:
The Hejný method course is the 5 - day international training course for primary educators who would like to explore the method and become aware of its key principles and the main didactic environments used in teaching using the Hejny method.
This course is for:
Maths Teachers & school staff - primary level - from abroad schools or the Czech bilingual schools/ schools using different educational language than the Czech.
The Hejny method course will have maximum 15 participants.
Language:
The training course is given in English. Recommended level of English is B1+ ( intermmediate).

At the end of the course, each participant will be awarded with a certificate of attendance.
Lecturers:
The main tutor of the course is Doc. RNDr. Darina Jirotková, Ph.D., the associate professor at Department of Mathematics and Math Education at Charles University of Prague, co-author of Hejny method.
The opening lecture will be held by main author of the method Prof. RNDr. Milan Hejný, CSc.
Prof. Hejný is the author or co-author of 16 mathematical publications and more than 270 publications in mathematical didactics, including 13 frequently cited books. He has lectured at 13 foreign universities and more than 30 international conferences, has been a chief investigator or co-investigator on 7 domestic and 4 internationally funded projects, and serves as a member of the editorial board for the Educational Studies in Mathematics journal and the editorial board of the Kluwer publishing house for the Mathematics Teacher Education series.

Participation fee for the training is 440 € (10 600 CZK). In the price accommodation and journey expanses are not included. Refreshment during the course is provided.

The course fees must be paid in full before you begin your course. Full instructions on how to pay will be on your invoice. Your booking is only guaranteed once payment has reached our bank account. There are no reductions in fees for late arrival or early departure. Methods of payment: Direct bank transfer to our account. Please inform your bank that you will pay ALL bank transfer charges in your own country and the Czech Republic. Please ensure your name and registration number is on all bank transfer documents.

CANCELLATION
For cancellations made less than 30 days before the course start, a fee of 20% from the price will be charged. For cancellations made 2 weeks before the course start, a fee of 50% from the price will be charged and for cancellations made less than 2 weeks before the course start, a fee of 100 % from the price will be charged.
